Law & Order: July 13-19

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 7-13-18 thru 7-19-18. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.      

JULY 13, Friday:

1:52 a.m. Caller requested an officer to remove an individual that will not leave. Officer responded finding the individual had left. 1:12 p.m. Dispatch received a distress call for a fishing vessel whose power steering pump had broken. Wildlife Troopers and USCG were contacted to assist the vessel.

JULY 14, Saturday:

12:22 a.m. During a traffic stop an officer arrested Kendra Wiese, 28 of Cordova, for Driving While Intoxicated. 11:50 p.m. Officer received a report that Leonardo Gonzales, age 28 of Cordova, was Violating Conditions of Release. Gonzales was previously arrested for the Violation and was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest.

JULY 15, Sunday:

Nothing to report.

JULY 16, Monday:

1:16 a.m. Caller reported an individual is having difficulty breathing. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC. 5:04 a.m. Individual reported she had lost her phone and called it finding an unknown person answered it and will not return it. Officer responded investigating the situation. 8:24 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for a individual feeling dizzy and sick. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC.

JUNE 17, Tuesday:

1:11 a.m. Caller reported a man had come into the Anchor Bar and pulled out a gun pointing it at a customer. Officers responded arresting Dio Reutov, age 30 of Wasilla, for Assault in the 3rd Degree and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. 8:09 a.m. Caller reported items being shoplifted from her shop. Officer responded investigating the situation. 10:11 p.m. Caller reported his fishing nets and other items were missing from his locker. Officer responded speaking to the owners of the locker who moved the equipment.

JULY 18, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

JULY 19, Thursday:

11:06 a.m. Caller reported they are on a fishing vessel and is dehydrated and sick and needs assistance getting off the vessel. USCG was contacted to assist the caller. 5:55 p.m. Individual reported her purse and keys had been stolen from her truck the day before. Officer responded investigating the situation. 9:42 p.m. Caller requested officers at a bar because two women were challenging multiple people to fight. Officer responded finding the women had left.  

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
