Law & Order: Aug. 24-30

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 8-24-18 thru 8-30-18. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.               

AUGUST 24, Friday:

10:09 a.m. Caller reported his vehicle had been gone through when he was out of town and items were taken from it. Officer responded investigating the situation. 6:13 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on their son who is in Cordova working and they had not heard from him in many days. Officer responded finding the callers son finding him to be okay.

AUGUST 25, Saturday:

11:32 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for an employee who had a fish rack fall on his legs. Ambulance responded transporting the man to CCMC.

AUGUST 26, Sunday:

1:50 a.m. Caller reported a fight at the Alaskan Bar. Officer responded investigating the situation.  

AUGUST 27, Monday:

3:15 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on her grandson who had been laid off from work. Officer responded finding the grandson okay.

AUGUST 28, Tuesday:

7:33 a.m. Caller reported she had received text messages during the night from a woman asking for help. Officer investigated the situation finding the woman okay and does not need help.

AUGUST 29, Wednesday:

4:43 p.m. Individual reported a drunk driver swerving down the road. Officers responded finding the driver who was sightseeing. No alcohol or drugs were involved.

AUGUST 30, Thursday:

12:14 a.m. Officer requested an ambulance for a woman who is having an overdose. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC. 12:49 p.m. Caller reported their phone had been stolen. Officer responded investigating the situation.         

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, and citations.
