Come talk about draft Chugach National forest plans on Sept. 27

An open house is scheduled at the Cordova Center on Sept. 27 for discussion on the draft land management plan and draft environmental impact statement for Chugach National Forest.

Similar open houses are set for Hope, Moose Pass, Soldotna, Cooper Landing, Seward and Girdwood in September, Oct. 9 in Anchorage and Oct. 11 in Valdez.

All of the public open house events, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. offer an opportunity for the public to meet with the forest supervisor and forest service staff to ask questions and learn more about these plans.

The 90-day public comment period began on Aug. 4 and concludes on Nov. 1. The documents are available online at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/chugach/planrevision

Comments may be submitted electronically at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/chugach/plancomments, faxed to 907-743-9476, submitted to writing at any of these public meetings before Nov. 1, or submitted to Chugach National Forest’s Supervisor’s Office, Attn: Draft Land Management Plan, 161 East 1st Street, Door 8, Anchorage, AK 99501.

Public comments will be incorporated into the final EIS and land management plan to be published in 2019.
