Sullivan named to chair subcommittee

Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, has been appointed to chair the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, a role created by Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-OK, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Inhofe filled that seat after the death of Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona.

Sullivan’s committee is charged with overseeing military readiness in each branch of the Defense Department, including training, logistics and maintenance issues and programs, military construction, installations and family housing issues, and defense energy and environmental programs.
