Ballot Measure 1 commentary had 10 signers

A commentary in opposition to Ballot Measure 1, written by Randy Bates, which ran in the Oct. 12 edition of The Cordova Times, had nine other signers who supported his stance.

Bates, a former director of habitat for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, has also been featured in advertisements paid for by opponents of the ballot measure, which have run numerous times on Alaska television stations.

Bates’ co-signers, all former employees of ADF&G or the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, included: Ed Fogels, Kerry Howard, Thomas E. Irwin, Bill Jeffress, Doug Vincent Lang, Bob Loeffler, Ginny Litchfield, Slim Morstad and Marty K. Rutherford.
