A European running team sponsored by the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute has reported a successful first half of the year, running 44 races from January to July, with runners placing in the top 10 a total of 25 times.
Team Fisio Monestario, based in Spain, also placed in the top five nine times and had one win.
The team has a unique partnership with ASMI. In exchange for a sponsorship, ASMI provides frozen or canned salmon to every member of the team to fuel their training and recovery.
ASMI also participated in the CONXEMAR trade show in Vigo, Spain, Oct. 2-4, with the Alaska pavilion having a number of co-exhibitors, and reported high demand in the region for Alaska cod, Pollock and salmon.
