Fairbanks International Airport is now smoke free

Fairbanks International Airport, in compliance with new state laws, has been designated a smoke free campus, and smoking is prohibited within the FAI passenger terminal campus.

This prohibition includes all enclosed public spaces, taxis, buses, shuttles, sidewalks, rest areas and public and employee parking lots.

The only two designated smoking areas of the airport are located across from the concourse adjacent to the terminal building.

Airport officials said individuals not complying with the law are subject to a $50 fine.
