Craig man sentenced for meth trafficking

Bradley Payton Grasser, 63, of Craig has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Prince of Wales Island communities.

Grasser was sentenced on Dec. 10 by Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy Burgess in Anchorage, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Anchorage said.

Grasser pleaded guilty to methamphetamine conspiracy and agreed to forfeit all rights to $89,703, 11 firearms and other items obtained from his drug trafficking activities, including vessels, tenders, motorcycles, utility trailers, containers and gun safes.

According to court documents, starting at least in January 2014 and continuing through January 2017, Grasser coordinated and directed distribution of meth on Prince of Wales Island for the conspiracy, as well as collection of drug proceeds from co-conspirators.

The total amount of meth seized during the conspiracy was 1,133.7 grams intended for distribution on Prince of Wales Island and in Ketchikan.
