The registration deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 14, and registration will be issued only to individuals who have a 2019 miscellaneous saltwater finfish permit card for trawl gear.

Permit card applications are available at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game offices, online at or by calling the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission at 907-789-6160.

Registration packets are available only at ADF&G offices in Homer and Kodiak. Those who want to register by fax or email must contact the Homer office during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The packet includes check-in and check-out requirements, logbooks, catch reporting procedures and accommodation of department observers.

ADF&G will be soliciting bids for a test fishery, which funds research in PWS, prior to the start of the season. The available harvest will be about 900,000 pounds.
