Drabek named to Koniag board

Koniag Inc. has named Tony Drabek to the regional Alaska Native Corporation’s board of directors, to fill a vacancy left by the death of board member Brent Parsons last November.

“While Brent cannot be replaced, Koniag committed to replacing Brent with someone of similar skills and Tony fits that mold,” said Ron Unger, board chairman and interim chief executive officer. “Tony’s background is going to help us continue our positive trajectory in providing meaningful benefits to our shareholders.”

Drabek served as president and chief executive officer of Natives of Kodiak for more than a quarter century.  He also helped to start Anchorage-based Northrim Bank and served on its board of directors for more than two decades.

Koniag, with offices in Kodiak and Anchorage, has a diverse portfolio of companies and real estate holdings serving nearly 4,000 shareholders.
