Museum Memories

All Aboard! In this photo from the Cordova Historical Society collection a Copper River and Northwestern Railway engine and cars await passengers ready to board for an excursion “out the road.” The Cordova depot building was located near the junction of Second Street and the Copper River Highway.

The Copper River and Northwestern Railway ran from Cordova to Kennecott from March 1911 to November 1938.

This photo came from an album donated to the Cordova Museum by the Resurrection Bay Historical Society in Seward.
