Among the presenters at ComFish Alaska 2019 in Kodiak on Thursday, March 29, was Rep. Louise Stutes, R-Kodiak, who provided an update on pink salmon disaster relief funds, and the status of legislation on the Alaska Marine Highway System and fish taxes. In a community meeting later, Stutues offered a detailed outline on the overall status of Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s proposed budget and options for a lower Alaska Permanent Fund dividend check that would benefit coastal fishing communities.
