Malaspina now set to return to service May 6

State transportation officials are now anticipating the return of the M/V Malaspina to service on May 6, with a 3:30 p.m. departure from Ketchikan heading south to Prince Rupert.

In a statement issued on April 10, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities said that in order to conduct necessary bow thruster repairs, sailings of the Malaspina would be cancelled, beginning with the April 29 Ketchikan to Prince Rupert voyage and continue through the May 6 Wrangell to Ketchikan voyage.

All passengers were being notified and rebooked or refunded as necessary, they said.
