Wild salmon and their role in the lives of Alaskans are the subject of a new exhibit that opens Friday, May 3 at the Anchorage Museum and will remain on display through the first week of January 2020.

A formal welcome to the exhibit is scheduled for the Northern Narrative Gallery from Erin Harrington, Salmon Project lead for the past seven years.

On Saturday, May 4, panelists from the museum’s North by North Festival will discuss the role of Alaska’s salmon and salmon-connected people in a resilient future Alaska.

The North by North summit and festival themselves celebrate connection and culture across the North.
