Among the other new exhibitions at the Anchorage Museum is “What Why How We Eat”, with displays of Alaska food favorites like pilot bread, macaroni and cheese, Tang, Crisco, Spam and soft drinks Pepsi and Crush.

Erin Harrington, executive director of the Salmon Project, speaks on Friday, May 3, at the opening of the new Alaskans and Salmon multi-media exhibition celebrating salmon culture in Alaska at the Anchorage Museum. The exhibition is being presented in conjunction with The Salmon Project, a non-partisan effort to bring together diverse Alaskans to raise awareness of and sustain Alaska’s wild salmon for its economic, social, cultural and ecological values.
