Membership Drive and Annual Meeting

Cordova District Fishermen United is hosting a membership drive and annual meeting on Friday, May 24 at the Pioneer Igloo. School’s Out Party!

Cordova Public Library is hosting a School’s Out Party featuring the animated feature film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”. There will be a super hero photobooth and the first 25 kids at each showing will receive a free comic book. Showings are at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Cordova’s Northstar Theatre.

Cordova Cleanup Day

The Cordova Chamber of Commerce is hosting Cordova Cleanup Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Meet at the Cordova Center at 10 a.m. to get bags, gloves and location assignments. Participants meet at noon at the Cordova Center for a barbeque lunch, free for all volunteers. Volunteers will also receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win door prizes.

National Trails Day

Join Cordova’s Forest Service Rangers on a family hike to discover clues along Haystack Trail on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 1. Download the game app Agents of Discovery before arriving at 10 a.m. at Haystack Trailhead, Mile 19 Copper River Highway.

Become a HAM

Cordova Amateur Radio Club (CARC) is hosting HAM radio exam courses. To study for the Technician, General, and/or Extra level exams, visit hamradiolicenseexam.com. Tests will be taken at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3 at the Fire Department Training room. There is a fee of $15 and pre-registration is required. Fisheries Achievement Award reception

Prince William Sound Science Center invites everyone to attend their annual Fisheries Achievement Award reception at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the Prince William Sound Science Center. This event honors an individual or group for making a significant contribution toward the sustainable use of fishery resources in Prince William Sound or the Copper River regions.

Join members of the St. George Episcopal Church on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. at the Cordova Community Medical Center for their Tuesday gospel sing-along, started in honor of Frances Mallory, and led by Christina Vican and Rev.
