Salmon Jam features music and art from Cordova and beyond.

The Artisan Market showcases handcrafted items by local and visiting artists, although this year we are featuring mostly our own talented Cordova artists! Each artisan decorates their own booth to display and sell their wares, including handmade soaps, herbals, jewelry, clothing, dolls, and original designs and art. Cordova Arts and Pageants facilitates the Artisan Market and offers a prize of free booth rental in next year’s Salmon Jam for the lucky vendor voted “Best in Show” by the other vendors.

Come shop at the festival grounds at Mt. Eyak Ski Hill on 6-9 p.m. Friday, July 12; and 1-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Saturday, July 13.

Admission to the kid’s activities and Artisan Market is free on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy great music, art and food, and also feel good about supporting the arts in Cordova!  Salmon Jam is the annual fundraiser for Cordova’s local arts council, Cordova Arts & Pageants.  Proceeds from Salmon Jam support year-round cultural and arts education programs in Cordova, making the arts available to our isolated community and educating Cordova youth.  Cordova Arts brings in quality performers from around the globe to perform in Cordova and conduct student outreach concerts for our schools.  Artists include Body Vox, Che Apalache, Hot Club of Cowtown, Jig Jam, The Wonderheads, and many more. Note the upcoming and past season lists on display in the beer garden and the snack shack.  Thank you for supporting the arts and inspiring tomorrow’s creative thinkers.

Paula Payne is the president of Cordova Arts & Pageants and an accomplished visual artist.
