Obituary: Russell John Belgram

At 63 years old, Russell John Belgram passed away peacefully at 11:47 p.m. on July 7 at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle, Washington with his family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his father James R. Belgram, his brother Robert J. Belgram and half-sister Susie Becker.

Russell was an avid Harley biker, thus his nickname “Biker.” He spent many hours on his Harley in his earlier years.

He moved from Wisconsin to Alaska in the early 1980s and remained in Cordova for over 30 years. He crab-fished, seined, longlined and purchased a home in Cordova where he remained. He had a beautiful yard, split his own wood, and worked for the Collins and Behrends families at Long Lake.

Russell is survived by his mother Phyllis A. Erdman; sisters Linda M. Glasen and Tina M. Belgram of Cordova; sister Laurie M. Bergeman of Park Falls, Wisconsin; and half-sister Tina M. Erickson of Merrill, Wisconsin. He never married or had children, but his large family includes 21 nieces and nephews, and around 33 great nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful dog Sniper.
