Law & Order: Sept. 26–Oct. 10

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Sept. 26–Oct. 10. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Thursday, Sept. 26
2:16 a.m. Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in town. Officer investigated the sounds and was unable to locate them. 9:47 a.m. Caller requested medical transport. Ambulance transported patient to the hospital. 10:55 a.m. Medical transport requested. Ambulance responded and conducted transport. 3:23 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check. Officer responded and spoke with individual.

Friday, Sept. 27
8:14 a.m. Caller requested medical transport. Ambulance responded and transported patient to the hospital. 4:52 p.m. Caller reported receiving death threats. Officer is investigating the incident. 6:27 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance. Ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

Saturday, Sept. 28
6:18 a.m. Caller requested medical transport. Ambulance responded and transported patient to the airport. 10:12 a.m. Caller requested officer to help settle a property dispute. Officer investigated and spoke with all parties.

Sunday, Sept. 29
11:57 a.m. Caller reported reckless driving on Fourth Street. Officer is investigating.

Monday, Sept. 30
3:15 p.m. Caller requested a medical transport. Ambulance responded and transported the patient. 8:41 p.m. Caller requested a medical transport. Ambulance responded and conducted transport.

Tuesday, Oct. 1
8:35 a.m. caller requested a welfare check. Individual was contacted and is okay. 5:34 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check. Individual was contacted and is okay. 7:00 p.m. Caller reported that they were assaulted. Officer spoke with caller and is investigating the situation.

Wednesday, Oct. 2
3:59 p.m. Caller requested the fire department to help contain fuel spill. Fire department responded and fuel spill was contained.

Thursday, Oct. 3
2:04 p.m. Caller reported propane leak on main street. Fire department and officer investigated and determined it was a false alarm. 7:34 p.m. Caller reported a reckless driver in the old harbor area. Officer responded and patrolled the area.

Friday, Oct. 4
9:26 a.m. Caller reported an item was stolen out of a truck. An officer investigating the incident. 2:13 p.m. Caller requested an officer to trespass an individual from their property. Officer was notified and investigated the situation.

Saturday, Oct. 5
11:31 a.m. Caller reported a reckless driver on 6.5 mile road. An officer patrolled the area.

Monday, Oct. 7

Tuesday, Oct. 8
4:28 p.m. Fire department responded to an overturned vehicle on Power Creek Road. The vehicle was reported upside down in Eyak Lake with an unknown number of occupants. Upon arrival, CVFD personnel used the jaws of life to free the driver of the vehicle, Jesse Jones, 50, of California. Firefighters also removed an unresponsive passenger from the vehicle. The passenger was transported to CCMC and died a short time later. The victim was identified as Andrey Plisko. Further investigation revealed that Jones was intoxicated. Jones was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, DUI, and misconduct involving a weapon. Jones was lodged in the Cordova Jail on $10,000 cash bond. The next of kin for the victim have been notified.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
