Four cruise ships visits have been planned to Cordova next year, says Harbormaster Tony Schinella. The first visit is scheduled for April 2020.

Each visit is expected to bring around 150–200 tourists to Cordova.

“I’m happy to see them,” Schinella said. “I think it’s a good thing for the city. I think it’s the size of vessels that we can handle.”

These four visits may be supplemented by two additional visits by Le Soléal, the 264-passenger liner that unexpectedly dropped in on Cordova in August 2019. The Cordova Chamber of Commerce is interested in supporting sustainable cruise ship tourism, said Executive Director Cathy Renfeldt.
