I note that ferry service has been resumed to Kodiak from Homer utilizing the Tustamena. This makes little sense and shows how the ferry service is unable to “think outside the box” to help resolve the ferry crisis.

Instead they should sail from Whittier or Valdez, stop in Cordova with flag stops in Tatitlek and Chenega and Ouzinkie, then Kodiak. Reverse on return. This would serve PWS as well as Kodiak on each voyage, with only a small increase in transit time. Also, with Kodiak passengers landing much closer to Anchorage via Whittier and tunnel, rather than a long drive from Homer.

This should be worthy of an in-depth story, as it first discloses the failure to come up with a meaningful solution to the problem, as well as points out the complete abandonment of Cordova.
