Holiday Gallery Gala
The Cordova Historical Society is hosting a Holiday Gallery Gala from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Copper River Gallery. Cost is $35 per person and includes an annual membership with the society, drinks, heavy appetizers, door prizes, fellowship and annual local holiday art opening. Tickets are available at the Cordova Museum.
Hometown Holiday Kick-off
The Cordova Chamber of Commerce’s Holiday Kick-off begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 on First Street. Gather at the Community Center for hot chocolate and Christmas carols, watch the Fire Department Parade at 5:30 p.m., Santa lights the tree at 5:45 p.m.
The City of Cordova and Parks and Rec. Department is hosting their 2019 Bidarki Holiday Bazaar from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mt. Eccles Elementary School.

Robotics Virtual Qualifier
The Mt. Eccles fouth, fifth and sixth grade Robotics Virtual Qualifer is 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the CHS Tech Room. Students are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. with breakfast, snacks to share, lunch and drinks. Stage of the Tide presents “Mamma Mia!” Performances are 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Net Loft and the Cordova Museum.
Main Street Lamp Post Contest

America’s Wolves are featured at the Copper River Gallery at the Museum through Nov. 28.
Harbor Arts heART SHOW
The heART SHOW now features works from Harbor Arts artists. As arts pieces sell, they may be taken home and new works will go up in their place. A percentage of sales will go to Cordova Arts and the show will hang until late December.
Open gym for Cordova’s youth

The Bidarki Rec Center opens the upstairs gym for little ones 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Toys, mats and other items are provided so tots and their caregivers can enjoy some free, inside playtime, rain or shine. There is no fee to attend.

Elementary school children are welcome to come and sing and play guitar, fiddle, ukulele, bass, mandolin, and banjo from 8:05 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays at the elementary school music room. Older kids, parents and community members are welcome and needed as helpers. Pre-schoolers can come with their parents or caregivers.
Moms, Pops & Tots

Life Hacks for Kids
Life Hacks for Kids is a free weekly after-school program at Cordova Public Library for students grades four through six. Students will learn useful life skills such as using common household tools, restaurant etiquette and ordering, grocery shopping, laundry, camping, first aid and fire safety, and basic sewing. Knit & Lit Book Club
Bring your knitting and join the Knit & Lit Book Club at 7 p.m. at the fireplacein the Cordova Public Library, the last Tuesday of every month.
Ilanka community wellness and recovery support circle
A wellness and recovery support circle will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Ilanka Wellness Center located at the old DMV office across from St. George’s Episcopal Church. Tuesday Night Talks

A children’s story time activity will be held at the Cordova Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Caregivers must attend.
A Christian program to help overcome issues with substance use, abuse, divorce, fear, anxiety, food, gambling, and other hurts, habits and hang-ups is every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene’s Christian Education Building on Adams Avenue. Patch the Pirate Kids Club
Patch the Pirate Kids Club will be held 3-5 p.m. Fridays at the MorningStar Independent Baptist Church, at their new location at the old troopers building, for children grades first through sixth.
Free art activities for first graders and up will be held weekly at 3:30 p.m. Fridays at the Cordova Education Room. No school no art.
Cordova Disc Golf Club putting league
