2 city council seats up for election March 3

Two city council seats will be up for election March 3. Cordova City Council Seats B and C are currently occupied by Councilmen Ken Jones and Jeff Guard, respectively.

The Cordova Regular Election will be held 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cordova Center. Voters will also elect one Cordova School Board member, one three-year Cordova Community Medical Center Authority Board member and one two-year CCMC Authority Board member.

Candidates must file by Feb. 4 with the Cordova City Clerk. City council, school board and CCMC Authority Board candidates must be at least 18 years old and must have resided in Cordova for at least one year immediately preceding the election. Additionally, CCMC Authority Board candidates must meet the criteria laid out in Title 15, Chapter 20, Section 010, Subsection B of the Cordova Municipal Code. This subsection excludes from the board individuals with particular conflicts of interest, such as a direct familial relationship to a current CCMC employee.
