Anita Beatrice Yarbrough, 83, of Cordova, Alaska, passed away peacefully December 18, 2019 at the Cordova Community Medical Center.
She was born June 20, 1936 in Haskell County, Texas, the daughter of late Dan and Agnes Anderson. She was the oldest of 9 siblings. On Dec. 19, 1953, she married Travis Lee Yarbrough in Rule, Texas. In 1955 they had their daughter Glenda Gail Yarbrough, and in 1956 their son, Travis Derwayne Yarbrough, was born. In 1963 they moved to Cordova, Alaska.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Lee Yarbrough of Cordova, Alaska; grandchildren, Stacey and Brian Johannessen of Salem, Oregon; grandchildren, Sheryl and David Glasen of Cordova, Alaska; great-grandchildren, Travis Glasen, Tristan Glasen, Katelyn Scott, Shelby Glasen and Henry Johannessen; brother James Anderson of Texas; and brother, Calvin Anderson of Texas.
Anita was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Gail Yarbrough; son, Travis Derwayne Yarbrough; brother, Danny Anderson; brother, Marvin Anderson; sister, Leona Yarbrough; brother, Wayne Anderson; brother, Kenneth Anderson; brother, Garland Anderson; and sister, Melba McNeil.
A celebration of life will be held in May.
