NPRB seeks sea life images

March 9 is the deadline for submissions for the annual sea life photo contest sponsored by the North Pacific Research Board, the Anchorage based entity that funds research opportunities on fishery manager and other important ecosystem issues.

The photo contest, now in its 15th year, is open to amateur and professional photographers.

The contest, with cash prizes up to $3,300 for top finalists, seeks images of sea life, seascapes, coastal scenes and marine research within waters of the North Pacific Ocean, including Prince William Sound, the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands, Bering Strait and Chukchi/Beaufort seas.

Selected photos will be used in program and educational materials used to tell stories of research, understanding and life along coastal Alaska.

Officials rules and further information to apply online is at nprb.org/nprb/annual-photo-contest.
