Update: Census Bureau fingerprinting rescheduled to Feb. 3

A U.S. Census Bureau recruiter will take applicants’ fingerprints from 1:30–3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3 at the Cordova Center.

A number of part-time positions are available, paying $28 per hour for work conducted on evenings and weekends, said Census Bureau Recruiting Assistant Michael Griffith. Interested residents are advised to fill out an application online ahead of time, and to bring their application number with them, he said

Applicants are also advised to bring an unexpired photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, plus a secondary form of ID, such as a Social Security card or birth certificate.

“We need local, on-the-ground census takers,” said City Manager Helen Howarth. “The census is critical to Cordova, because having an accurate count is going to help us for the next 10 years, making sure that we get our share of federal resources for the community and individuals.”
