Law & Order: Jan. 31-Feb. 6

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Jan. 31-Feb. 6. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Jan. 31
11:59 a.m. A fire officer reported a vehicle in the snow off the road near Chase Avenue and Copper River Highway. The officer assisted others in getting the vehicle unstuck from the snow. 3:25 p.m. A fire alarm company reported a fire alarm was activated at the Mt. Eccles Elementary School. Fire personnel responded and found it to be a false alarm.

Saturday, Feb. 1
9:02 a.m. Caller reported an altercation between two motorists on First Street. An officer responded speaking to one of the involved parties. Both individuals had separated, and no further incident occurred. 10:29 a.m. Caller had reported a vehicle had pulled out into the road and cut her off causing her to hit a snow berm. An officer received the report and is looking into this incident. 12:11 p.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport from the hospital to the 13-mile airport.

Sunday, Feb. 2
Nothing to report.

Monday, Feb. 3
10:18 a.m. Caller requested a welfare check on a family member. An officer responded and determined everything was OK.

Tuesday, Feb. 4
12 p.m. Caller reported multiple incidents of credit card fraud. An officer is investigating the report. 7:03 p.m. Caller had reported a vehicle had illegally parked in their driveway. An officer responded and the vehicle was moved.

Wednesday, Feb. 5
12:45 a.m. Caller reported an empty vehicle that was off the side of the road. An officer responded to the scene of the accident to investigate. 12:47 a.m. CCMC requested a welfare check on one of its patients. An officer responded to the reported location and assisted the patient back to the hospital. 10:09 p.m. Caller reported a dog was barking uncontrollably. An officer responded to the reported location and made attempts to contact the owners of the dog.

Thursday, Feb. 6
Nothing to report.

Tuesday–Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
