The Cordova Wolverines were on cruise control in a home series versus Nenana here on Feb. 21-22, rambling past the Lynx 65-25 and 71-22.
Everyone on the CHS team saw action as the Wolverines remain undefeated in conference play with a 6-0 record, and now stand 16-3 overall, with only two pairs of conference games left prior to playoffs in SuValley on March 12-14.
Using a disruptive full court press, Cordova held Nenana to 5 points in each of the first two quarters of the opener, as the Lynx tried to dribble the ball through a wall of Wolverines.
CHS had 5 three-pointers in the first half, four of those by high-scoring Kaiden Graves, who finished the game with 22 points and six three-pointers. Rusty Bradford and Keegan Estes were also in double digits, with 14 and 11 points respectively.
In the Saturday game, which started at 9 a.m. so Nenana could catch the Alaska Airlines flight north that day, it was more of the same.
Nenana scored 5 points the second and third quarter, and 6 points in the first and fourth quarter. CHS took advantage of its size inside, and also poured in 8 threes.
Cordova led 49-11 at halftime
Christian Adams led CHS with 14 points; Bradford and Estes each added 10.
Cordova hosts Tok this weekend, Feb. 28-29. SuValley will be bringing over a boys JV squad to the first games of the season for the Cordova JVs.
