Lady Wolverines drop a pair to Nenana

Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the Cordova’s Lady Wolverines dropped a pair of games to Nenana by scores of 64-15 and 73-18.

The Lynx made it all the way to the 2A State finals last year and appear to be loaded once again.

On Feb. 21, Cordova trailed 12-7 after the first quarter, but the Lynx steadily pulled away, cashing in on numerous turnovers by CHS against the Nenana full court press.

Cali Sjostedt led CHS with 10.

With no ferry available, the game on Saturday, Feb. 22 was played early so Nenana could catch the afternoon Alaska Airlines flight.

Once again CHS stayed close for a quarter, down 17-8 at that time; but Nenana outscored Cordova 20-0 in the next eight minutes to win going away.
