ACEP wants public’s ideas on renewable energy

The Alaska Center for Energy and Power will host a talk on Cordova’s food, water and energy security needs from noon-1 p.m, Tuesday, March 10 at the Cordova Center Education Room.

ACEP is an applied energy research program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The event will feature natural resources management researcher Dr. Jennifer Schmidt. Schmidt will discuss the status of renewable energy in Alaska and present a selection of renewable energy projects across the state. The event will also be used to collect residents’ ideas on renewable energy.

The event is part of ACEP’s microFEWs project, studying the links between food, water and energy securities in the communities of Cordova, Tanana, Igiugig and Kongiganak.
