Law & Order: Feb. 21-27

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Feb. 21-27. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Friday, Feb. 21

9:18 p.m. Caller reported their neighbor came to their home and reported a possible domestic violence incident. An officer responded to the reported area and arrested Andrew Kidwell, age 50, of Cordova, Alaska, for assault in the fourth degree. 10:21 p.m. Caller requested an officer to remove two individuals who were not allowed to be at a residence. An officer responded and the individuals left without incident.

Saturday, Feb. 22

An individual at the Cordova Police Department requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 10:04 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and after a short medical evaluation, the patient decided that no transport would be necessary.

Sunday, Feb. 23

8:37 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 2:34 a.m. Caller reported they were intoxicated and one of the individuals in their party was passed out. An officer responded and determined the two were waiting in public for a taxi and didn’t want to be perceived as a public nuisance. 2:21 p.m. Caller reported seeing smoke and flame emitting from one of the bunk houses at Copper River Seafoods. The Cordova Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. 5:17 p.m. Individual came to the station to report a possible case of fraud. An officer is currently investigating this report.

Monday, Feb. 24

Nothing to report.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

6:11 a.m. Dispatch received an alarm notification of several fire alarms at the Trident Seafoods plant. The fire department responded and determined that it was faulty fire alarm equipment. 8:05 a.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the 13-mile airport. An ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

7:05 a.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle accident between a passenger car and a snow removal vehicle. An officer responded to conduct an accident investigation.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Nothing to report.

DMV HOURS

Tuesday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
