Law & Order: March 6-12

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between March 6-12. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, March 6
10:15 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded to the residence and transported the patient to the hospital. 1:59 p.m. Caller reported a possible theft of services. An officer responded to the scene and is currently conducting an investigation.

Saturday, March 7
10:20 a.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle accident. An officer responded to the scene of the accident and conducted an investigation.

Sunday, March 8
12:50 a.m. Caller reported a possible house party with underage kids. An officer responded to the area and conducted extra patrols.

Monday, March 9
Nothing to report.

Tuesday, March 10
2:46 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded to the area and transported the patient to the hospital. 10:16 a.m. Caller reported a possible fight in progress. An officer responded to the reported residence and arrested David Johannessen, age 33, of Cordova, Alaska, for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Violating Conditions of Release. 1:54 p.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the 13-mile airport. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.

Wednesday, March 11
Caller requested an extra patrol for an area with suspicious activity. 9:38 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on an individual who was making concerning statements. An officer responded to the residence but was unable to make contact. The officer was able to speak with the person over the phone shortly after and determined that everything way okay.

Thursday, March 12
11:10 a.m. Caller reported a potential electrical hazard on Whitshed Road. The fire marshal responded to the location and investigated the report.

DMV hours

Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
