Letter to the Editor: A graduation prayer

God of new beginnings,

We thank you for each one of these graduates. For their hard work and dedication, for their creativity and ingenuity. For their compassion and love. You have made each one in Your image, and from that image springs forth so many possibilities and opportunities.

We honor their accomplishments and achievements and we ask you to bless each graduate. Give them Your Spirit that they may go into the world and be moved by the stories and needs of their fellow men and women. Give them boldness in the name of Your Son to do the right thing and stand up for the voiceless. Give them Your blessing as they go out to accomplish their hearts’ desires, knowing that you have woven them together in love and call them forward into greatness.

Bless our time together and each of Your beloved children.

In awe of You we pray, Amen.
