Law & Order: June 5-11

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between June 5-11 Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, June 5
Nothing to report.

Saturday, June 6
9 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

Sunday, June 7
8:25 a.m. Caller reported his truck stolen. An officer investigated the report and arrested Jesse Anvil, age 35, of Cordova, Alaska, for vehicle theft. 9:02 a.m. Caller reported a party of five people in separate rafts had overturned in the Sheridan River rapids. All individuals are on shore now, but one individual is on the wrong side of the river and one person is stranded along the rock wall of the gorge. The Alaska State Troopers, The U.S.F.S, and the Cordova Fire Department all responded and assisted all five individuals back to safety. 12:30 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for assistance. The ambulance responded and provided necessary aid. 12:51 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for assistance. The ambulance responded and provided necessary aid.

Monday, June 8
3:17 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded and provided transport for the patient.

Tuesday, June 9
6:55 p.m. Caller reported they could hear banging and screaming coming from a house. An officer responded and spoke with the individuals inside the house. 8:47 p.m. Caller reported their roommate had made threats against them. An officer responded and spoke with all parties involved and resolved the situation.

Wednesday, June 10
Nothing to report.

Thursday, June 11
9:22 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for assistance. The ambulance responded and provided medical care to the patient.

DMV hours
Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
