Virtual Nouveau
Copper River Nouveau’s online “silent” auction will run June 12-18.  A livestreamed fundraiser featuring Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Pink Martini lead singer China Forbes and others will take place 5-6 p.m. July 18. Details are available at pwssc.org/support/copper-river-nouveau.

Jammin’ SalmONLINE
Salmon Jam will take place July 12-18, including virtual Salmon Runs, online musical performances, and various arts and science events. Visit salmonjam.org and facebook.com/salmonjam for full event schedule and details.

RockFish Art Installment
During July 12-18, community members are invited to paint fish-themed rocks and leave them at the Hollis Henrichs sign to help create a RockFish Garden in celebration of Jammin’ SalmONLINE. Admirers are asked to leave the rocks at the sign for everyone to view through July 18, after which time, community members are invited to select a rock to treasure or re-hide.

Virtual Painting Class
Join Copper River Canvas for a virtual painting class 2 p.m. Friday, July 17. Buy your supplies through CRC beforehand by emailing Jessicca at jessiccakennison@gmail.com or at the Net Loft for $45.

Story Book Forest
Visit the new temporary installation of The BIG Fish, a book by Marcia Wakeland, illustrations by Alexander Sagan, on the grounds between the Red Dragon and St. George’s Episcopal Church from July 14-27.Take a leisurely and socially distanced stroll and read along the way. Brought to you by the Cordova Public Library and Salmon Jam.

Poetry Showcase
Cordova Public Library’s monthly poetry showcase will take place online at 6 p.m. July 31. This month’s theme will be “life cycles.” For more information, contact jgold@cityofcordova.net.

Curbside book delivery
The Cordova Public Library offers curbside delivery from 8-10:30 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday outside the library by the drop box near the rear door. Go to cordovalibrary.org to find their catalog and email your book requests to curbsidedelivery@cordovalibrary.org or call 907-424-6667 and leave a voice message. Staff will bag your items and give you a call to schedule a pickup time. Items can be returned in the drop box.

The Cordova Public Library has a huge variety of books and audio books available in digital format through the Alaska Digital Library which can be accessed on any electronic device. Borrow, read & return books in digital format for free. Go to adl.overdrive.com and click “Sign in”. Select Cordova Public Library from drop-down list and enter your library card number. Community COVID-19 update schedule
The city of Cordova COVID-19 Public Information Team will be hosting a new livestreamed Community Update at 4 p.m. every Tuesday. The broadcast featuring reports and guest commentary from community and business partners, industry and medical professionals and response collaborators will be streamed live to the city’s YouTube channel and will be shared on Facebook via Facebook.com/groups/CordovaPrepared.

The Net Loft is hosting a virtual handcraft gathering at their usual in-person meeting time of noon on Wednesday.
