Winter ferry comment period
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) proposed Alaska Marine Highway System (AHMS) operating plan for October 2020 through April 2021 is now available for public review and comment through Friday, Aug. 14. Send your comments via email at or by fax at (907)228-6873.

Chamber assistance

Eyak Corporation Shareholders’ Meeting
The Eyak Corporation’s 46th Annual Shareholders’ Meeting will take place virtually from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 22. Shareholders will receive a Zoom link and teleconference number via mail. Make Cordova count at
Completing a 10-minute survey online will help secure federal funding for Cordova in education, health care, transportation and energy infrastructure projects. To-date, Cordova has less than 40 percent participation. The Census Bureau is scheduled to complete their work by Sept. 30, with a rural Alaska deadline set for Aug. 31. To take the 10 minute, 10-question survey and secure funds for Cordova for the next 10 years, go to

2020 Alaska Greek Festival

Curbside book delivery
The Cordova Public Library offers curbside delivery from 8-10:30 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday outside the library by the drop box near the rear door. Go to to find their catalog and email your book requests to or call 907-424-6667 and leave a voice message. Staff will bag your items and give you a call to schedule a pickup time. Items can be returned in the drop box.

The Cordova Public Library has a huge variety of books and audio books available in digital format through the Alaska Digital Library which can be accessed on any electronic device. Community COVID-19 update schedule
The city of Cordova COVID-19 Public Information Team will be hosting a new livestreamed Community Update at 4 p.m. every Tuesday. The Net Loft is hosting a virtual handcraft gathering at their usual in-person meeting time of noon on Wednesday.
