AMSEA class set for Sept. 5 in Sitka

A boating safety class offering the essentials for safe trips to new and experienced boaters alike will be offered Sept. 5 in Sitka by the Alaska Marine Safety Education Association.

Instructor Jerry Dzugan will provide essentials for trip planning, weather and risk assessment, distress signals and mayday calls, personal flotation devices, cold-water survival skills, man overboard recovery, the seven steps to survival, basic shore survival, and engine breakdowns.

All participants must wear a face mask and maintain physical distancing throughout the class.
