Submit meeting thoughts to fish, game boards by Aug. 31

Public comments are due by Monday, Aug. 31 to the Alaska Boards of Fisheries and Game on the upcoming 2020/2021 meeting cycle as it relates to mitigation measures for the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Comment is being sought on whether the boards should postpone the 2020-21 meeting schedule until conditions improve, and if so, what factors should be considered before in-person meetings are held?

The boards also want comment on whether an online board meeting with an option for taking testimony telephonically would be adequate for conducting board meetings.

In addition, the Board of Fisheries conducts its committee of the whole process and engages in a significant level of public-led substitute language. The fisheries board is encouraging comments on how these two functions might be carried out in a virtual meeting.

The Boards Support section will use comments to support the fish and game advisory committees with their meetings.

Comments may be submitted at boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov and to boardofgame.adfg.alaska.gov; via email to dfg.bof.comments@alaska.gov and dfg.bog.comments@alaska.gov; by mail to ADF&G, Boards Support Section, P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK 99811-5526; or via fax to 907-465-6094.
