A non-resident of Cordova tested positive for the novel coronavirus over the Sept. 5-6 weekend. The individual is taking safety precautions to prevent communicating the disease, officials said.

As of Tuesday, Sept. 8, all 18 previously identified cases of the virus have recovered. The city’s most recent previous case was a Cordova resident identified Aug. 27. Of the 19 cases reported so far, nine have been Cordova residents and 10 have been non-residents.

Community members are advised to continue implementing extra health precautions, and to self-quarantine if they believe they’ve been exposed to the virus, the Cordova Medical Team announced.

More information can be found at the city of Cordova’s online COVID-19 dashboard.
