Nominations are open through Dec. 15 for the Rasmuson Foundation’s 2021 Distinguished Artist Award, part of the foundation’s Individual Artist Awards program.
The foundation offers one $40,000 Distinguished Artist Award annually in recognition of an Alaskan’s significant artistic accomplishment and creative excellence over multiple decades.
These are artists who have chosen to make their lives and careers in Alaska, thereby contributing to the richness of arts and culture in the state.
Judging will be done by an Alaska-based panels of artists and experts. Winners of the Distinguished Artist Award are generally full-time professional artists. Since the program began in 2004, the foundation has honored 17 Distinguished Artists.
