Law & Order: Oct. 9-15

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Oct. 9-15. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Oct. 9

5:52 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded and rendered aid. 11:14 a.m. An officer went to CCMC for a follow-up on a current case. 12:12 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:03 p.m. Officers conducted training at the firearms range. 10:38 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on their nephew. An officer responded to the individuals reported location and everything was OK. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Saturday, Oct. 10

9:39 a.m. Caller reported a controlled burn at their property.

Sunday, Oct. 11

11:31 a.m. Caller reported a controlled burn at their property. 12:17 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport.

Monday, Oct. 12

10:22 a.m. Caller reported finding property scattered in the roadway. 4:50 p.m. Caller reported gas had been syphoned out of car at airport. 4:55 p.m. Officer replaced ankle monitor on offender on pretrial release. 6:51 p.m. David Johannessen, age 33, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested on a warrant for the offences of Disorderly Conduct and Violating Conditions of Release. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Tuesday, Oct. 13

11:32 a.m. An officer went to the Ilanka Community Health Center for a follow up on a current case. 12:35 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:31 p.m. An officer transported an inmate to the 13-mile airport for transfer to Anchorage. 8:53 p.m. An individual spoke with an officer about suspicious activity at their property. An officer investigated and found nothing amiss. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

9:45 a.m. An officer conducted fingerprinting on an individual for employment purposes. 12:14 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:10 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport.

Thursday, Oct. 15

10:17 a.m. Fire department officers conducted a series of tsunami siren tests for maintenance. 12:23 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 12:45 p.m. TSA requested an officer for a prohibited item found in a carry-on bag. 1:12 p.m. An individual reported a civil matter with their ex-spouse. 1:49 p.m. An officer conducted fingerprints on an individual for employment purposes. 4:09 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 5:46 p.m. A caller reported dogs impeding traffic on Observation Street. An officer responded and found the dogs’ owner picking them up. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday unless otherwise posted. Closed for lunch 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Credit Card payments accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations at DMV.
