Law & Order: Oct. 16-22

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Oct. 16-22. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Oct. 16
10:23 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle had driven off the road. An officer and the fire department responded and determined the vehicle had lost control due to black ice. 12:08 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:19 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:16 p.m. A second officer came to the 13-mile airport to pick up an offender who is being placed under house arrest. 6:41 p.m. An officer conducted fingerprinting on an individual for employment purposes. 11:29 p.m. An officer removed debris from the road that was blocking traffic. 11:35 p.m. An officer came across an animal struck by a vehicle. The officer removed the animal from the road. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Saturday, Oct. 17
12:31 a.m. An officer located a dog running down Lake Avenue and attempted to take it in. 1:10 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance.  An officer and an ambulance responded. 10:03 p.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the 13-mile airport. 6:45 p.m. An officer went to a residence to speak with the occupant about moving their illegally parked vehicle. 7:06 p.m. Caller reported a low-profile black car speeding. An officer patrolled the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport and secured an open door.

Sunday, Oct. 18
10:36 a.m. Caller reported an individual had hit their mirror on their vehicle and was following them making threats. An officer responded and spoke with the victim. An officer is investigating this incident. 11:33 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:08 p.m. An individual came to the station to report being hit by a vehicle.

Monday, Oct. 19
11:14 a.m. An officer trespassed an individual from Pacific Rim Housing. 11:16 a.m. An officer followed up on the trespassing incident. 3:35 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 7:45 p.m. Caller reported a white car racing out Whitshed Road. An officer patrolled the area but was unable to locate the vehicle. 10:10 p.m. Caller reported four individuals who got stuck at the mile-13 mud flats while hunting. Dispatch contacted the U.S. Coast Guard and the Alaska State Troopers.

Tuesday, Oct. 20
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 12:16 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 8:48 p.m. An officer went to the Reluctant Fisherman for follow up. 8:59 p.m. Caller reported a dog barking. An officer responded to the area but could not find any barking dogs.

Wednesday, Oct. 21
10:55 p.m. Caller reported a barking dog. An officer responded to the area and spoke to the animal’s owner. 12:20 p.m. An officer conducted security at the 13-mile airport. 3:54 p.m. An officer conducted security at the 13-mile airport.

Thursday, Oct. 22
9:00 a.m. Caller reported verbal argument with family member, did not want police, and was directed to mental health providers. 6:55 p.m. Caller reported loud vehicle on Whitshed Road. 8:17 p.m. Caller reported civil dispute on property. An officer conducted a security check of the 13-mile airport. 

DMV Hours

From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday unless otherwise posted. Closed for lunch 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Credit Card payments accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations at DMV.
