School officials have asked drivers to refrain from stopping in the 6.5-mile pullout on the Copper River Highway during times when school buses might need to use the pullout to turn around.

On school days, buses use the pullout to turn around at about 8-8:10 a.m., 12:05-12:15 p.m. and 3:50-4:05 p.m. When the 6.5-mile pullout is occupied by other vehicles, the bus must proceed another few miles to turn around, according to an announcement by the Cordova School District. If safely possible, drivers should instead park on either side of the highway, up the road from the pullout, according to the announcement.
