54th virus case is connected to Dec. 7 case

Cordova reported its 54th case of the novel coronavirus Friday, Dec. 11. The newly reported case, along with a case reported Wednesday, Dec. 9, has been connected to a travel-related case reported Monday, Dec. 7. All three recent cases are Cordova residents.

Of the 54 cases identified so far, three are believed to be currently active. Forty cases have been Cordova residents and 14 have been non-residents. Three cases have required hospitalization, according to data published by Ilanka Community Health Center. A Cordova resident who was infected with the novel coronavirus died Nov. 18.

Coronavirus testing is available at ICHC, Mondays and Fridays from 2-3 p.m., and Saturdays from noon-1 p.m.; and at Cordova Community Medical Center, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-9:30 a.m. More information can be found at the city of Cordova’s online COVID-19 dashboard.
