Classes at Cordova schools will resume Jan. 4 following winter break, with two weeks of online-only instruction. In-person learning will resume Jan. 18, with cohort assignments and schedules remaining the same. Students in Cohort A will attend class 8:45-11:40 a.m. and students in Cohort B will attend class 12:45-3:40 p.m.

Sixth grade teacher Krysta Williams said students weren’t looking forward to returning to online-only classes, but understood that it was an important safety measure.

“I’m looking forward to next semester,” Williams said. “Having had a whole semester to deal with the significantly reduced instructional time, I feel like I’ve got a better idea of how to make decisions about what to include and what not to include, and what to focus on.”

One Mt. Eccles Elementary School second grader tested positive for the coronavirus Nov. 16. However, no other cases have been linked to the school system.
