Register online now for the mariner’s first aid and CPR/AED class will be offered in Sitka on Jan. 23 by the Alaska Marine Safety Education Association.
Instructor Rob Emley will cover CPR and use of automatic external defibrillators, treatment of choking, medical emergencies, trauma, environmental hazards, patient assessment, medical communications, drowning and hypothermia, and common fishing injuries.
Participants will receive a U.S. Coast Guard accepted two-year certificate issued by the American Safety & Health Institute. Participants must wear a cloth face mask and comply with other class procedures for reducing risks of transmitting the novel coronavirus.
