Get ready — the Iceworm cometh

The Iceworm Festival preparations are underway! We are doing our best to bring safe, in-person events to the community. Many events like the Parade, Fireworks Extravaganza, Miss Iceworm Coronation, and City of the Year Award will be streamed or aired online, so you can watch from the comfort of your home. The schedule is being updated regularly, and we’ll be sure to put it right here in the paper in the coming weeks, along with all the information on Miss Iceworm.

But we need your help! Here are some things you can do, right on icewormfestival.com.

  • Take down those light pole decorations so we can get the banners up
  • Nominate someone for Citizen of the Year (by Jan. 25)
  • Sign up a parade float for the parade! (By Feb. 1. Remember, its a long route this year so no walking!)
  • Register your event (Right online!)
  • Get your photo for the Iceworm photo show into the Museum by Jan. 30 (Viewing is available the entire month of February)
  • Become a sponsor
  • Buy your treasure chest ticket from any of our board members so you have the chance to win 2 round trip Alaska airlines tickets, or a gift card for your very own kick sled!
  • Get your 2021 commemorative pin from Laura’s or the Museum!

We want to give a big shout out to Alaska Airlines, for their continued sponsoring of the 2021 Iceworm Festival too! We couldn’t sell those treasure chest tickets and whisk two people of to magical places without their support year after year.

Happy Iceworm Cordova!
