St. Joseph’s Holy Week liturgies
St. Joseph’s Church will celebrate Holy Week with the following services: Holy Thursday, April 1 at 7 p.m.; Good Friday, April 2 at 7 p.m.; Easter Vigil, April 3 at 7 p.m.; and Easter Sunday, April 4 at 10 a.m. Attendance will be limited, and reservations should be made through the church’s Facebook page. All services will be livestreamed on Facebook.
St. George’s Easter services
At St. George’s Episcopal Church, gospel music and prayer will be followed by candlelight meditation, beginning at 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 2. A community Easter sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4 at the mile-11 gazebo.
Easter Sunday events at St. George’s will commence at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom or in person. An outdoor mini Easter service will take place at 11:05 a.m. Participants are invited to bring colored eggs for older kids to hide at the end of the service. Morning Music
Morning Music is meeting virtually from 10-11 a.m. every Friday in April. Call Belle at 907-424-5143 or Kim at 907-253-5143 to get the link or borrow an instrument. Community Easter Egg Hunt
This year’s Community Easter Egg Walk About will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 3. Spread about along a designated route. Plastic eggs will be hidden nearby for ages 0-12 to find. There is a limit of ONE numbered egg per kid. Leave extras hidden for others to find. Return to CCMC parking lot to claim prizes and recycle plastic eggs. Visit the event’s Facebook page for details.
Easter Basket Fundraiser
The Cordova Family Resource Center is hosting their annual Easter Basket Fundraiser from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 at the Cordova Center. Limited baskets for all ages are available with a set price. Contact CFRC’s office at 907-424-5674 for more info.
Cordova Saturday Market

Saturday Soup

Call for submissions
The Catch, a new electronic quarterly, is calling for submissions in poetry, short fiction, essay, photography and art, to be submitted at jillian.cordovapubliclibrary@gmail.com. Submissions are due by June 15 and should not exceed 1 MB in size.
Federal Tax Deadline
The Treasury Department and the IRS announced that the 2020 individual federal income tax filing due date will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021. The IRS is not extending the estimated tax payment which will still be due by April 15. Details on this extension are in Notice 2021-21, posted on IRS.gov.

Mt. Eccles students are invited to NVE’s weekly After-school Club from 11 a.m.-noon on Fridays via Zoom. Grades will rotate. When it’s your grades’ week, stop by Mt. COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up
All Cordovans who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are asked to register at CDVCMC.com or call 907-424-3045. If registered, you will receive a call to set up an appointment as soon as you are eligible and the vaccine is available.
