The Cordova Public Library is accepting submissions for an upcoming quarterly creative journal. “The Catch” will accept essays, short fiction, poetry, photography and visual art until June 15.

“It’s a way for us to collaborate creatively as a community,” said librarian Jillian Gold, who will serve as editor for the journal.

The first issue of “The Catch” will be published July 1. The journal will be published principally electronically, with a bound copy also available at the library. Entries for the first issue of “The Catch” will center around the theme of “adrift,” the library announced.

The first submission to “The Catch” was an ink and watercolor artwork received in March, Gold said. Submissions to “The Catch” can be sent to jillian.cordovapubliclibrary@gmail.com. Submissions should not exceed 1 megabyte in size.
