Outdoor sports store Cordova Gear will give a bicycle away to the public May 22. It will be the first bicycle distributed via a joint program by Cordova Gear and the Cordova Police Department to refurbish abandoned bikes.
The bike was repaired by bicycle mechanic Lee Collins over the course of approximately one week in early April. Cordova Gear owner Natasha Casciano said she hopes the program will encourage community members to take up biking.
Members of the public can enter for a chance to receive the bike by visiting Cordova Gear between May 10-17.
